The ATmega8A is a low-power CMOS 8-bit microcontroller based on the AVR RISC architecture. It features 8KB of in-system self-programmable Flash program memory, 1KB internal SRAM, and 512B EEPROM with high endurance (10,000 Flash write/erase cycles, 100,000 EEPROM cycles). Operating at up to 16MHz, it achieves throughputs approaching 1 MIPS per MHz, enabling optimized power consumption versus processing speed.
Peripheral features include two 8-bit timer/counters, one 16-bit timer/counter, three PWM channels, an 8-channel 10-bit ADC, and serial communication interfaces (I2C, SPI, UART/USART). It also includes a brown-out detect/reset, power-on reset, and watchdog timer.
