The ATMEGA16U4-MU is a high-performance, low-power 8-bit AVR microcontroller from Microchip Technology. It features an advanced RISC architecture with 135 instructions, most executed in a single clock cycle. The device integrates 16KB of in-system self-programmable Flash memory, 1.25KB internal SRAM, and 512B EEPROM with high endurance of 10,000 write/erase cycles for Flash and 100,000 for EEPROM.
Connectivity includes I2C, SPI, UART/USART, and USB 2.0 full-speed/low-speed device module. Peripheral features include an 8-bit timer/counter with prescaler and compare mode, brown-out detection, power-on reset, PWM, temperature sensor, and watchdog timer. The microcontroller also offers a 12-channel 10-bit analog-to-digital converter.
The device operates over a supply voltage range of 2.7V to 5.5V and a temperature range of -40°C to +85°C. It is available in a 44-VFQFN exposed pad package (44-VQFN 7x7mm) for surface mount assembly.
It uses an AVR core with 8-bit architecture.
The maximum speed is 16MHz.
It has 16KB Flash, 1.25KB SRAM, and 512B EEPROM.
