The Microchip Technology ATAES132A-SHEQ-B is a high-security serial EEPROM designed for authentication and nonvolatile data storage. It offers 32Kb of standard EEPROM memory, compatible with Atmel AT24C32D and AT25320B. The device incorporates an AES-128 cryptographic engine operating in AES-CCM mode for authentication, encryption, and Message Authentication Codes.
Key features include secure hardware-based key storage for up to sixteen 128-bit keys, encrypted user memory read/write capabilities, and an internal FIPS-compliant random number generator. It provides 16 user zones, each 2Kb, with independently configurable access rights, including read/write, encrypted, or read-only options. Authentication is required prior to zone access.
