ATA6836C-TIQW Description

The Atmel® ATA6836C is a fully protected hex half-bridge driver designed in Smart Power SOI technology. It is used to control up to six different loads by a microcontroller in automotive and industrial applications.

 

Each of the six high-side and six low-side drivers can drive currents up to 650mA. The drivers are internally connected to form six half-bridges and can be controlled separately from a standard serial data interface. This allows for the control of various loads such as bulbs, resistors, capacitors, and inductors. The IC especially supports the application of H-bridges to drive DC motors.

 

Protection features include short-circuit conditions, overtemperature, and undervoltage protection. Various diagnosis functions and a very low quiescent current in standby mode make a wide range of applications possible. The device operates at voltages up to 40V and features an SPI interface with a clock frequency up to 2MHz.

 

This component is available in a 28-SOIC package and is suitable for surface mount applications. It offers features like status flags, open load detection, overtemperature protection, short-circuit protection, and undervoltage lockout (UVLO).
