ATA6836C-PXQW-1 Description

Short technical summary and product information.

The Atmel ATA6836C is a fully protected hex half-bridge driver designed in Smart Power SOI technology. It is used to control up to six different loads by a microcontroller in automotive and industrial applications.

Each of the six high-side and six low-side drivers can drive currents up to 650mA. The drivers are internally connected to form six half-bridges and can be controlled separately from a standard serial data interface. This allows for driving various loads such as bulbs, resistors, capacitors, and inductors. The IC especially supports the application of H-bridges to drive DC motors.

Protection is guaranteed for short-circuit conditions, overtemperature, and undervoltage. Various diagnosis functions and a very low quiescent current in standby mode make a wide range of applications possible. Automotive qualification referring to conducted interferences, EMC protection, and ESD protection provides added value and enhanced quality for the exacting requirements of automotive applications.

The ATA6836C-PXQW-1 is available in a 24-VQFN exposed pad package suitable for surface mounting. It operates over a voltage range of 5.5V to 40V and has an operating temperature range of -40°C to 150°C (TJ).
