The AT89S51-24PI is a low-power, high-performance CMOS 8-bit microcontroller based on the industry-standard 8051 core. It operates at a maximum clock speed of 24MHz and features 4KB of in-system programmable Flash memory with 10,000 write/erase cycles endurance. The device includes 128 bytes of internal RAM, 32 programmable I/O lines, two 16-bit timer/counters, a full-duplex UART serial channel, and a watchdog timer. Additional features include dual data pointers, six interrupt sources, and low-power idle and power-down modes.
The microcontroller supports a supply voltage range of 4V to 5.5V and operates over an ambient temperature range of -40°C to 85°C. It uses an internal oscillator and is housed in a 40-pin PDIP (Plastic Dual In-line Package) with a 0.600-inch body width and 2.54mm lead spacing. The through-hole mounting type makes it suitable for prototyping and industrial applications.
Typical applications include industrial automation, consumer electronics, automotive control modules, and embedded systems requiring reliable 8-bit processing with serial communication. The AT89S51-24PI is part of Microchip's 89S series and is offered in tube packaging.
