The AT24MAC402-SSHM-T from Microchip Technology is a 2-Kbit Serial Electrically-Erasable Programmable Read-Only Memory (EEPROM) organized as 256 words of eight bits each. It utilizes an I2C-compatible (2-wire) serial interface for data access, supporting clock frequencies up to 1MHz at 2.5V or 5.0V, and 400kHz at 1.7V.
This EEPROM offers a low operating voltage range of 1.7V to 5.5V and an operating temperature range of -40°C to 85°C. It includes features such as Schmitt trigger filtered inputs for noise suppression, hardware write protection for the entire array, and permanent/reversible software write protection for the first half of the array. The device supports 16-byte page write modes with partial page writes allowed and has a self-timed write cycle of 5ms maximum.
Enhanced features include a factory-programmed, permanently locked, read-only EUI-48 or EUI-64 compatible address stored in a separate memory area, along with a unique factory-programmed 128-bit serial number. These addresses are guaranteed unique. The AT24MAC402-SSHM-T is supplied in an 8-lead SOIC package suitable for surface mounting.
