The Sensata APL211-5055-2 is a hydraulic magnetic circuit protector from the APL/UPL series, designed for reliable power switching and circuit control. It features a lever actuator for manual operation and a panel mount for easy installation.
This device functions similarly to an ON-OFF switch under normal load conditions. Upon detecting an overload, its internal mechanism trips, opening the contacts and forcibly returning the handle to the OFF position. The protector is designed to be "trip free," meaning the internal contacts will not remain closed during an overload, even if the handle is held in the ON position.
It is important to note that the APL/UPL series, including this part number, is a legacy product. Sensata Technologies is no longer accepting new design-in orders for this series. For new designs, Sensata recommends utilizing the Airpax™ IAL series.
While designed for industrial, military, and information processing applications, the APL/UPL series is suitable for any situation requiring precise operation. Most versions are recognized by UL and certified by CSA as supplementary protectors.
