The Sensata APL/UPL series APL13-28646-1 is a hydraulic magnetic circuit protector designed for reliable power switching, circuit protection, and control. It features a panel mount configuration with a lever actuator for manual operation. Upon overload, the internal mechanism trips, opening the contacts and forcibly returning the handle to the OFF position, ensuring protection even if the handle is held ON.
This is a legacy product, and Sensata Technologies recommends the Airpax™ IAL series for new design-ins. The APL/UPL series offers various configurations including series, shunt, and relay types with a choice of delays and ratings. Multi-pole assemblies are also available, combining different current ratings, delays, and internal circuit configurations.
While designed for industrial, military, and information processing applications, the APL/UPL series is suitable for any situation requiring precision operation. Most versions are recognized by UL and certified by CSA as supplementary protectors.
