The Sensata APL/UPL series hydraulic magnetic circuit protector, model APL12-1REC3-8885-2, is designed for reliable power switching, circuit protection, and control. It features a lever actuator for manual operation and a panel mount for integration into systems. Upon overload, the internal mechanism trips, opening the contacts and forcibly returning the handle to the OFF position. This protector is trip-free, ensuring contacts do not remain closed under overload conditions, even if the handle is held ON.

This is a legacy product and is designated as 'Existing Design-In Only'. No new design-in orders are being accepted, and the 205 series is being discontinued. For new designs, Sensata Technologies recommends utilizing the Airpax™ IAL series. The APL/UPL line offers various configurations, including series, shunt, and relay types, with a choice of delays and ratings. Multi-pole assemblies are also available, combining different current ratings, delays, and internal circuit configurations. While designed for industrial, military, and information processing applications, it is suitable for any situation requiring precision operation.

Key specifications include panel mounting and a lever actuator. The product is recognized by UL per UL STD. 1077 as a supplementary protector and certified by CSA per CSA STD. C22.2–No. 235. Dimensions are provided in both inches and millimeters for precise integration.
