The Sensata APL/UPL series, including the APL11-7906-4, are hydraulic magnetic circuit protectors designed for reliable, low-cost power switching, circuit protection, and control. The APL11-7906-4 features a 2-pole configuration with a lever actuator for manual operation, similar to an ON-OFF switch. Upon overload, the internal mechanism trips, opening the contacts and forcibly returning the handle to the OFF position. This protector is 'trip free,' meaning the internal contacts will not remain closed under overload conditions, even if the handle is held in the ON position.
This specific model, APL11-7906-4, is designed for panel mounting. It is part of a legacy product line, and Sensata Technologies recommends the Airpax™ IAL series for new design-ins.
