The Sensata APL1-29677-50 is a single-pole hydraulic magnetic circuit breaker from the APL/UPL series. This legacy product offers reliable, low-cost power switching, circuit protection, and circuit control. It features a lever actuator for manual operation, functioning similarly to an ON-OFF switch under normal load conditions.
Upon detecting an overload, the internal mechanism trips, opening the contacts and forcibly returning the handle to the OFF position. The 'trip free' design ensures the internal contacts will not remain closed during an overload, even if the handle is held in the ON position. This circuit protector is designed for panel mounting.
While designed for industrial, military, and information processing applications, the APL/UPL series is suitable for any situation requiring precision operation. Sensata Technologies notes that the APL/UPL series is a legacy product and recommends the Airpax™ IAL series for new designs.
