The Sensata APL1-2248-5 is a magnetic circuit breaker with a hydraulic delay mechanism, designed for reliable circuit protection and power switching. This model features a single pole and a lever actuator, making it suitable for panel mounting applications.
As a legacy product, the APL/UPL series, including the APL1-2248-5, is no longer recommended for new design-ins. Sensata Technologies suggests the Airpax™ IAL series as a suitable alternative for new designs. The APL/UPL series provides low-cost power switching and circuit control, with an internal mechanism that trips and opens contacts upon overload, even if the handle is held in the ON position.
This circuit breaker is recognized by UL per UL STD. 1077 as a supplementary protector and certified by CSA per CSA STD. C22.2–No. 235. It is shipped in bulk packaging and is REACH unaffected with a Moisture Sensitivity Level (MSL) of 1 (Unlimited).
