The Sensata APL/UPL series, including the APL000-9806-1, are legacy hydraulic magnetic circuit protectors designed for reliable, low-cost power switching, circuit protection, and control. These devices function similarly to an ON-OFF switch, with an internal mechanism that trips and forcibly returns the handle to the OFF position upon overload. The "trip free" design ensures the internal contacts will not remain closed during an overload, even if the handle is held in the ON position.

The APL/UPL series is suitable for use in two-phase circuits, single-phase three-wire systems, or in two or more related but electrically isolated circuits.
