It delivers a constant current of up to 500mA, enabling uniform brightness and eliminating the need for ballast resistors when LEDs are connected in series. This device supports an operating input voltage range of up to 48V, making it suitable for various power sources.
The converter operates at a high switching frequency of up to 700kHz, which allows for the use of small external components, thereby minimizing the required PCB area. Dimming control is achieved through either a DC voltage or a PWM signal applied to the CTRL input pin. An input voltage of 0.2V or lower at CTRL initiates a low-current standby state, shutting down the output.
Designed for applications such as commercial and industrial lighting, small LCD panel backlights, appliance interior lighting, and architecture detail lighting, the AP8801M8G-13 is available in an 8-MSOP package. It features built-in output open-circuit protection and is manufactured using "Green" molding compound, being totally lead-free and fully RoHS compliant.
