The AOZ8205DI from Alpha & Omega Semiconductors is a five-line transient voltage suppressor (TVS) diode array. It is engineered to safeguard data lines against transient conditions and electrostatic discharge (ESD). Utilizing advanced Trench Vertical Structure technology, this device provides superior clamping performance.
This TVS diode array incorporates five diodes within a single DFN 1.6 mm x 1.6 mm package, making it suitable for space-constrained applications. It can be configured to protect either five unidirectional or four bidirectional I/O lines. The AOZ8205DI operates at a low voltage of 5.0 V and offers robust ESD protection, exceeding IEC 61000-4-2 standards with ±30 kV air and contact discharge ratings, as well as ±30 kV for the Human Body Model.
Key electrical characteristics include a 5V working peak reverse voltage and a minimum breakdown voltage of 6V. It can handle a peak pulse current of 5A with an 8/20 µs waveform. The typical input capacitance is 17pF. The device is rated for an ambient temperature range of -40 °C to +85 °C.
Applications for the AOZ8205DI include portable handheld devices, keypads, data lines, notebook computers, digital cameras, portable GPS units, and MP3 players. Its small package size and high ESD protection make it ideal for protecting high-speed video and data communication interfaces.
