The AOS AOD2922 is an ECPower™ smart protection switch suitable for USB Type-C PD current-sourcing applications. It offers a wide input operating voltage range from 3.8V to 5.5V, with the VOUT terminal rated at an absolute maximum of 29V to protect against high voltage surges in PD applications.
This device integrates an internal current-limiting circuit, with the threshold set by an external resistor, to safeguard the supply from excessive load currents. It also includes an internal soft-start circuit to manage inrush current when connected to capacitive loads. The AOZ1358LI-01 supports USB PD Fast Role Swap (FRS) for quick output voltage rise times.
Key protection features include Ideal Diode Reverse-Current Blocking (IDRCB) to prevent reverse current flow, Short-Circuit Protection (SCP), Under-Voltage Lock Out (UVLO), and Thermal Shut Down (TSD). It also provides ±8kV IEC 61000-4-2 ESD protection and ±80V IEC 61000-4-5 surge protection on the VOUT pin.
The AOZ1358LI-01 is available in a compact 2.01mm x 2.05mm WLCSP package with a 0.5mm pitch and 16 bumps, making it suitable for space-constrained designs.
