The AMIS-42665AGA is a high-speed, low-power CAN transceiver from AMI Semiconductor Inc., serving as the interface between a CAN protocol controller and the physical bus. It is suitable for both 12V and 24V industrial and automotive applications.
Key features include a high speed of up to 1Mbaud, a wide differential receiver common-mode range of +/-35V for high electromagnetic susceptibility (EMS), and low electromagnetic emission (EME). The transceiver operates with a power supply voltage range of 4.75V to 5.25V. It also includes features such as an extremely low current standby mode with wake-up via the bus, transmit data dominant time-out function, thermal protection, and bus pins protected against transients.
The device offers ideal passive behavior when the supply voltage is removed, ensuring no disturbance of the bus lines with an un-powered node. Logic level inputs are compatible with 3.3V devices. The transceiver provides differential transmit capability to the bus and differential receive capability to the CAN controller.
