The Texas Instruments AM4378BZDN100 is a Sitara family ARM Cortex-A9 32-bit RISC microprocessor operating at up to 1GHz. It integrates a NEON SIMD coprocessor and vector floating point unit, with 32KB L1 instruction and data cache and 256KB L2 cache or L3 RAM. Memory support includes 32-bit LPDDR2, DDR3, and DDR3L, as well as general-purpose NAND, NOR, and SRAM with up to 16-bit ECC.

 

The device features an SGX530 3D graphics engine, a display subsystem for LCD, and a Programmable Real-Time Unit Subsystem (PRU-ICSS) for industrial communication protocols such as EtherNet/IP, Profibus, Profinet, and Sercos. Connectivity includes dual 10/100/1000 Ethernet ports, dual USB 2.0 with integrated PHY, and multiple serial interfaces (CAN, UART, McASP, SPI, I2C, QSPI). Security is provided by cryptographic hardware accelerators (AES, SHA, RNG, DES, 3DES) and secure boot.

 

The microprocessor is housed in a 491-LFBGA (17x17mm) surface-mount package and operates over a temperature range of -40°C to 105°C. It supports Linux and RTOS operating systems and is Edge AI enabled.
