The AM29F040B-55JI from Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) is a 4 Mbit uniform sector Flash memory. It is organized as 524,288 bytes of 8 bits each, with data divided into eight sectors of 64 Kbytes for flexible erase capabilities. This device operates on a single 5.0V VCC supply, simplifying system power requirements and eliminating the need for a 12.0V VPP for programming or erasing.
Key electrical characteristics include a high performance of 55ns access time and a guaranteed minimum of 1,000,000 program/erase cycles per sector. The memory offers 20-year data retention at 125°C. It is manufactured using AMD's 0.32 μm process technology.
