The AM2841APC is an asynchronous first-in first-out (FIFO) memory stack organized as 64 four-bit words. It accepts a four-bit parallel word under control of the shift-in (SI) input. Data entered into the FIFO ripples through to the outputs. Up to 64 words can be stored before any words are read.
The Am2841A variant guarantees a data rate of 1.2MHz. The device is functionally identical to the Am3341 but offers higher performance. Reading and writing operations are independent, making it suitable as a buffer between asynchronously operating digital machines.
This FIFO memory is provided in a DIP package. Special input circuits offer true TTL compatibility without the need for external pull-up resistors.
