The AM26LS31CDR is a quadruple complementary-output line driver from Texas Instruments, designed to meet the requirements of ANSI TIA/EIA-422-B and ITU Recommendation V.11. It provides four differential line drivers with TTL-compatible inputs and complementary outputs.

 

Operating from a single 5V supply (4.75V to 5.25V), it supports data rates up to 10 Mbps. The drivers feature a common-mode range of -7V to 7V and fault protection up to -7V to 7V. It can drive up to 32 nodes on a bus. Supply current is typically 80 mA max.

 

The device is suitable for balanced line driving applications such as twisted-pair or parallel-wire transmission lines. It includes complementary output-enable inputs and high output impedance in power-off conditions. The half-duplex operation allows for bidirectional communication on a single pair of wires.
