The AM26C32C from Texas Instruments is a quadruple differential line receiver suitable for balanced or unbalanced digital data transmission. This device features 3-state outputs, allowing direct connection to bus-organized systems. The common enable function supports both active-high and active-low inputs.
Key electrical characteristics include a typical propagation delay of 17 ns, a ±7V common-mode range with ±200mV sensitivity, and input hysteresis of 60 mV typical. It operates from a single 5V supply and consumes a low typical supply current of 10 mA. The fail-safe design ensures outputs are high when inputs are open.
Manufactured using a BiCMOS process, the AM26C32C combines bipolar and CMOS transistor benefits for reduced power consumption compared to older devices like the AM26LS32, while maintaining AC and DC performance. It meets or exceeds the requirements of ANSI TIA/EIA-422-B, TIA/EIA-423-B, and ITU recommendation V.10 and V.11.
This part is available in a 16-pin SSOP (DB) package with dimensions of 6.2 mm x 7.8 mm. Please note that the AM26C32C is obsolete and no longer in production; new designs should consider an alternate product such as the AM26C32.
