AL9910-5SP-13

The AL9910-5SP-13 from Diodes Incorporated is a universal high-voltage PWM LED driver controller. It provides an efficient solution for offline high-brightness LED lamps, operating from rectified line voltages ranging from 85VAC up to 277VAC. The controller drives external MOSFETs at switching frequencies up to 300kHz, with the frequency determined by a single external resistor. This topology creates a constant current through the LEDs, ensuring constant light output. The output current is programmed by an external resistor, allowing for flexibility in driving LEDs with varying current requirements.

Brightness control is achieved through both linear and PWM dimming using the dedicated LD and PWM_D pins. The PWM_D input supports duty ratios from 0 to 100% and frequencies up to several kHz. The AL9910-5SP-13 can withstand input voltages up to 500V, offering resilience to transients. It features internal thermal protection (OTP) and is available in the thermally enhanced SO-8EP package.

Key features include over 90% efficiency, a universal 85 to 277VAC input range, and the ability to withstand input voltages up to 500V. The device also boasts tighter current-sense tolerance (5% for AL9910-5 variants) and an internal voltage regulator that removes the need for a startup resistor. It is suitable for applications such as LED offline lamps, high-voltage DC-DC LED drivers, signage and decorative LED lighting, and backlighting for flat panel displays.
