AK9754AE

The Asahi Kasei Microdevices/AKM AK9754AE is a quantum-type infrared (IR) sensor module designed for human sensing applications. It integrates signal processing circuits and a human approach detection algorithm, allowing it to detect human presence and output signals via interrupt pins.

This module offers 16-bit digital outputs over an I2C interface, supporting both Standard (100Hz) and Fast (400Hz) modes. It also includes an integrated temperature sensor with a range of -30°C to 85°C. The AK9754AE features integrated digital filters for both the IR and temperature sensors, with cut-off frequencies of 0.9Hz and 0.445Hz when operating at 10Hz data output rate.

Designed for low power consumption, the AK9754AE operates from a supply voltage of 1.71V to 3.63V, with a maximum current draw of 10 µA at 10Hz ODR. It is housed in an ultra-small and thin 8-pin SON package measuring 2.2mm x 2.2mm x 0.6mm, making it suitable for space-constrained designs. The module supports multiple synchronization connections, allowing up to eight devices to be connected simultaneously.
