The AK6-240C is a bidirectional transient voltage suppression (TVS) diode from Littelfuse's AK6 series, designed for high surge current protection in AC and DC line applications. It features a very low clamping voltage and ultra-compact size compared to traditional discrete solutions.
Key electrical specifications include a reverse standoff voltage of 240V, minimum breakdown voltage of 250V, and maximum clamping voltage of 340V at peak pulse current. It can handle a peak pulse current of 6000A (6kA) with an 8/20µs waveform. The device has a typical capacitance of 2000pF at 10kHz and operates over a junction temperature range of -55°C to 125°C.
The AK6-240C is housed in an Axial package with a right angle bend (24.15mm center), suitable for through-hole mounting. It is RoHS compliant, halogen-free, and lead-free (Pb-free E4).
