The AK5388EQ is a 24-bit, 4-channel analog-to-digital converter designed for high-end audio applications. It uses AKM's Enhanced Dual Bit architecture to achieve 120 dB dynamic range in stereo mode and 123 dB in mono mode, with a signal-to-noise-plus-distortion ratio of 110 dB. The device supports sampling rates from 8 kHz to 216 kHz.
The ADC accepts full differential inputs and provides digital output in 24-bit MSB justified, I²S, or TDM formats. It operates in both master and slave clock modes and includes a short delay digital filter with group delay of 12.6/fs. An overflow flag and digital high-pass filter are integrated for enhanced performance.
Power supply requirements are 4.75 V to 5.25 V for analog and 3.0 V to 3.6 V for digital. Typical power dissipation is 575 mW at 48 kHz sampling. The device is housed in a 44-pin LQFP package (10x10 mm, 0.8 mm pitch) and operates over -10°C to 70°C.
