AH1883-ZG-7

The AH1883-ZG-7 from Diodes Incorporated is a micropower, ultra-sensitive omnipolar Hall Effect switch designed for portable and battery-powered equipment. It operates with either a North or South pole of sufficient strength, switching on when magnetic flux density exceeds the operate point (Bop) and off when it falls below the release point (Brp).

This Hall Effect switch IC is optimized for low power consumption, typically drawing only 12µA at a supply voltage of 1.8V. It supports a wide operating voltage range of 1.65V to 3.3V and operates reliably across a temperature range of -40°C to 85°C. The device features a push-pull output structure, eliminating the need for an external pull-up resistor.

Packaged in a small, low-profile SOT-553 surface-mount package, the AH1883-ZG-7 is ideal for space-constrained designs. Its chopper-stabilized architecture ensures superior temperature stability and extremely low switch-point drift, making it insensitive to physical stress and providing good RF noise immunity. The device also offers high ESD protection, rated at greater than 6kV HBM.

Applications for the AH1883-ZG-7 include cellular phones, PDAs, portable PCs, camcorders, cordless phones, and handheld game consoles. It is also suitable for proximity detection and contactless switch applications.
