It provides a dynamic range of 95 dB and achieves 13 noise-free bits on the receive channel. The receive channel consumes only 670 µA typical at 3.3 V supply. It also features integrated digital ambient estimation and subtraction, flexible transimpedance amplifier settings, and fault diagnostics for photodiode and LED open/short detection.

 

The device is housed in a compact 40-VFQFN exposed pad package (40-VQFN 6x6 mm) and supports surface mount mounting. It operates over a temperature range of 0°C to 70°C. The AFE4400RHAR is suitable for clinical fingertip pulse oximetry and optical heart-rate monitoring applications.
