The AFE0064IPBK is a 64-channel analog front end (AFE) from Texas Instruments, specifically designed for flat panel detector based digital X-ray systems. It integrates 64 integrators, a programmable gain amplifier (PGA) for full-scale charge level selection, correlated double sampler, a 64-to-2 multiplexer, and two differential output drivers. The device operates from a 3.2V to 3.6V supply and consumes 175 mW in normal mode, with a low-power NAP mode at 49.5 mW. It offers eight adjustable full-scale ranges from 0.13 pC to 9.5 pC, and features built-in correlated double sampling (CDS) and selectable integration up/down mode. The AFE0064IPBK achieves a minimum scan time of 28.32 µs for all 64 channels, with a maximum data transfer rate of 7.5 MHz. It has an integral nonlinearity of ±0.006% of FSR and noise of 824 e-RMS with a 30 pF sensor capacitor in the 1.2 pC range. The device is housed in a 128-LQFP package (14x14 mm) with surface mount mounting. It is suitable for applications such as digital radiography, CT scanners, baggage scanners, and infrared spectroscopy.
