ADXL204CE

The ADXL204CE from Analog Devices is a complete dual-axis accelerometer on a single monolithic IC, designed for high precision and low power consumption. It measures acceleration along the X and Y axes with a full-scale range of ±1.7g. The device operates over a wide voltage range of 3V to 6V, with typical power consumption of 500 μA at 3.3V.

Key features include better than 2 mg resolution at 60 Hz, high zero g bias stability, and high sensitivity accuracy. The bandwidth can be adjusted with a single capacitor, allowing for customization to specific application needs, with selectable bandwidths from 0.5 Hz to 2.5 kHz. The X-axis and Y-axis are typically aligned to within 0.1°.

This accelerometer is available in an 8-terminal, 5 mm × 5 mm × 2 mm LCC package, suitable for surface mount applications. It offers 3500g shock survival and is compatible with both Sn/Pb- and Pb-free solder processes. The ADXL204CE is well-suited for applications such as vehicle dynamic control, electronic stability programs, electronic chassis controls, platform stabilization, navigation, and motion detection.

It can measure both dynamic acceleration, like vibration, and static acceleration, such as gravity, making it versatile for tilt sensing applications where resolutions below 0.1° of inclination are required.
