ADV7173KST

The ADV7173KST from Analog Devices is a digital PAL/NTSC video encoder designed for high-performance video applications. It integrates six high-quality 10-bit video DACs and offers advanced power management features, including PC'98 compliance with TV detection and auto-shutdown.

This device supports a wide range of video output standards such as NTSC-M, PAL-M/N, PAL-B/D/G/H/I, and PAL-60, with output levels compatible with YUV Betacam, MII, and SMPTE/EBU N10. It requires a single 27 MHz clock and provides an 80 dB video SNR. The encoder includes features like SSAF™ (Super Sub-Alias Filter), hue, brightness, contrast, and saturation controls, CGMS, and WSS.

Input data ports support CCIR-656 4:2:2 8-bit parallel format. Programmable filters for luma and chroma, VBI, subcarrier frequency and phase, and LUMA delay are also included. The ADV7173KST operates from a single 3.3 V or 5 V supply and is housed in a compact 48-lead LQFP package, making it suitable for applications like DVD playback systems, portable video equipment, video games, and set-top boxes.

Mounting is via surface mount technology. The device features a 2-wire serial MPU interface compatible with I2C standards. Its design incorporates an on-chip video timing generator and supports programmable multimode master/slave operation.
