ADUM2250ARWZ

The ADuM2250ARWZ from Analog Devices is a hot-swappable digital isolator featuring two bidirectional channels compatible with I2C interfaces. This device simplifies isolation by eliminating the need to split I2C signals into separate transmit and receive paths, unlike traditional optocouplers. It operates at data rates up to 1Mbps and provides 5000Vrms isolation.

Designed for robust performance, the ADUM2250ARWZ operates within a temperature range of -40°C to 105°C. It features open-drain interfaces and a current sink capability of 30 mA. The isolator is based on Analog Devices' iCoupler® chip scale transformer technology, offering advantages in performance, size, and power consumption.

This digital isolator is suitable for applications requiring isolated I2C, SMBus, or PMBus interfaces, including multilevel I2C interfaces, power supplies, and networking equipment. It is supplied in a 16-lead SOIC wide body package with surface mount mounting type. The device also includes hot-swap circuitry to prevent data glitches when an unpowered card is inserted into an active bus.

Safety and regulatory approvals include UL recognition for 5000 V rms, CSA Component Acceptance, and compliance with IEC 60601-1 and IEC 60950-1 standards. It also holds a VDE certificate of conformity.
