The ADS8860IDGSR is a 16-bit, 1-MSPS, single-ended input, successive approximation register (SAR) analog-to-digital converter (ADC) from Texas Instruments. It operates from a single 2.7V to 3.6V analog supply and features an independent digital supply from 1.65V to 3.6V. The device uses an external reference and supports a unipolar input voltage range from 0V to +VREF.
This ADC provides excellent AC performance with a typical signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) of 93 dB and a total harmonic distortion (THD) of -108 dB. It achieves a typical integral nonlinearity (INL) of ±1.0 LSB and a maximum differential nonlinearity (DNL) of ±1.0 LSB, ensuring 16-bit no-missing-code performance. The device consumes only 5.5 mW at 1 MSPS and features a power-down current of 50 nA.
The ADS8860IDGSR is housed in a 10-pin VSSOP (10-VSSOP) package and is designed for surface-mount assembly. It includes features such as daisy-chain capability, an internal oscillator, and a small footprint, making it suitable for space-constrained applications. The SPI-compatible serial interface allows for easy integration with microcontrollers and digital signal processors.
