The ADS8668IDBTR is a 12-bit successive approximation register (SAR) analog-to-digital converter (ADC) from Texas Instruments. It offers a maximum sampling rate of 500 ksps and features 8 single-ended input channels with a multiplexed configuration. The device supports a wide bipolar input voltage range of ±10.24V, making it suitable for industrial applications requiring high dynamic range. The ADC operates from a single 5V analog supply and a 1.65V to 5.25V I/O supply, with a typical power consumption of 65 mW.
The ADC includes an integrated 4.096V reference with low drift, and offers channel-independent programmable input ranges. It provides excellent linearity with DNL of ±0.2 LSB and INL of ±0.2 LSB. The signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) is 73.8 dB, and total harmonic distortion (THD) is -95 dB. The SPI-compatible interface supports daisy-chaining for multiple devices. Additional features include an oscillator, over-voltage protection up to ±20V, and a programmable gain amplifier (PGA).
The ADS8668IDBTR is designed for industrial temperature range from -40°C to 125°C. It is housed in a 38-pin TSSOP package (DBT) with surface mount mounting. The device is RoHS3 compliant (unverified) and REACH unaffected (unverified).
