The ADS8504IBDW is a complete 12-bit sampling analog-to-digital converter (ADC) from Texas Instruments. It uses a successive approximation register (SAR) architecture with a built-in sample-and-hold, providing a sampling rate of 250 kS/s. The device accepts a standard ±10 V input range and achieves 73 dB SINAD at 45 kHz input. Integral nonlinearity (INL) and differential nonlinearity (DNL) are both ±0.45 LSB maximum.
This ADC operates from a single +5 V supply with typical power dissipation of 70 mW at 250 kSPS. It includes an internal 2.5 V reference but can also use an external reference. The parallel data interface facilitates easy connection to microprocessors and DSPs.
The ADS8504 is designed for industrial applications such as process control, data acquisition systems, and medical equipment. It is available in a 28-pin SOIC surface-mount package (0.295" width, 7.50 mm), rated for operation from -40°C to 85°C.
