ADS8332IPW Description

Short technical summary and product information.

The ADS8332IPW from Texas Instruments is a 16-bit, 500 kSPS successive approximation register (SAR) analog-to-digital converter featuring an integrated 8-channel multiplexer. It supports pseudo-differential and single-ended input configurations with an external voltage reference, providing a flexible input range from 0 V to 4.2 V.

This ADC delivers excellent AC performance with a typical SNR of 91.5 dB, SFDR of 101 dB, and THD of -100 dB at 5 V supply and 1 kHz input. DC performance includes ±1.2 LSB typical INL and ±0.6 LSB typical DNL. Power consumption is low at 14.2 mW typical during operation at 500 kSPS, with power-down modes (Nap, Auto-NAP, Deep) for further savings.

The device communicates via a SPI-compatible serial interface with clock speeds up to 40 MHz. It supports daisy-chain operation for multiple ADCs on a single bus, and features an on-chip conversion clock, software/hardware reset, and programmable status/polarity EOC/INT outputs. The separate I/O supply allows operation from 1.65 V to match low-voltage logic.

Housed in a 24-pin TSSOP package (24-TSSOP, 4.40 mm width), the ADS8332IPW operates over the industrial temperature range of -40°C to 85°C. It is suitable for data acquisition systems, industrial process control, and sensor interfacing where high resolution and moderate sampling rates are required.
