The ADS8317IBDGKT is a 16-bit, successive approximation register (SAR) analog-to-digital converter (ADC) from Texas Instruments. It supports a maximum sampling rate of 250 kSPS and features a single differential input with an SPI data interface.
The device operates from a single analog and digital supply range of 2.7V to 5.5V. Typical power consumption is 10 mW at 5V and 250 kHz sampling. It provides a signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) of 90 dB and requires an external reference with an input voltage range of 0V to 2.5V. The ADC achieves no missing codes over the full temperature range of -40°C to 85°C.
This ADC is suitable for battery-operated systems, remote data acquisition, isolated data acquisition, industrial controls, and vibration analysis. It is offered in an 8-pin VSSOP (also MSOP-8 and TSSOP-8) package for surface-mount assembly. The device is pin-compatible with the ADS8321.
