The ADS7960QDBTRQ1 is an automotive-grade 8-bit successive approximation register (SAR) analog-to-digital converter from Texas Instruments. It features a maximum sampling rate of 1 MSPS and 12 single-ended input channels multiplexed into a single converter. The device uses an SPI serial interface for data transfer and requires an external voltage reference.
Operating from an analog supply of 2.7V to 5.25V and a digital I/O supply of 1.7V to 5.25V, the ADC consumes typically 14.5 mW at full speed. It includes a programmable gain amplifier (PGA) and supports two software-selectable unipolar input ranges (0V to 2.5V or 0V to 5V). The device is specified over the -40°C to 125°C temperature range and is AEC-Q100 qualified for automotive applications.
The ADS7960QDBTRQ1 is housed in a 38-pin TSSOP package (9.7 mm x 6.4 mm) and is functional safety capable. It also features four individually configurable GPIOs and two programmable alarm levels per channel for system monitoring.
