The ADS7885SDBVT is an 8-bit successive-approximation-register (SAR) analog-to-digital converter by Texas Instruments. It offers a maximum sampling rate of 3 MSPS and operates from a single supply voltage range of 2.7 V to 5.5 V. The device features a single-ended input, a supply reference architecture, and a serial SPI data interface. Typical power consumption is 15 mW at 5 V / 3 MSPS and 6.8 mW at 3 V / 2.5 MSPS. The ADC provides ±0.15 LSB INL and ±0.1 LSB DNL, 49.8 dB SINAD and -68 dB THD. It includes a power-down mode with a typical 1 µA shutdown current and has an input bandwidth of 30 MHz (-3 dB). The device is supplied in a 6-pin SOT-23 package for surface-mount assembly and is specified for an operating temperature range of -40°C to 125°C. Typical applications include baseband converters in radio communications, motor current sensing, optical networking, battery-powered systems, and high-speed data acquisition.
