The ADS7834E/250 is a 12-bit, high-speed, low-power sampling analog-to-digital converter (ADC) from Texas Instruments. It integrates a sample/hold circuit, an internal 2.5V reference, and a synchronous serial (SPI) interface. The device achieves a maximum sampling rate of 500 kHz with typical power dissipation of 11 mW at full throughput, and can be placed into a power-down mode reducing dissipation to 2.5 mW.
This SAR ADC accepts a differential input voltage range from 0 V to the reference voltage (Vref). The internal reference can be overdriven by an external reference source. The ADS7834E/250 is designed for battery-operated systems, wireless communication devices, portable multi-channel data loggers, and spectrum analyzers. Its serial interface simplifies isolation for remote data acquisition. The converter is specified for the -40°C to +85°C temperature range and is offered in a surface-mount 8-VSSOP package (8-TSSOP, 8-MSOP).
