ADS7812P Description

Short technical summary and product information.

The ADS7812P is a low-power, single +5V supply, 12-bit sampling analog-to-digital converter from Texas Instruments. It contains a complete 12-bit capacitor-based SAR A/D converter with an internal sample/hold, clock, reference, and serial data interface.

The converter supports multiple input voltage ranges including ±10V, ±5V, 0V to 10V, 0.5V to 4.5V, and a high-impedance 0.3V to 2.8V range. Its flexible SPI-compatible serial interface allows synchronization to an internal or external clock. Key performance specifications include a 20µs maximum conversion time, typical integral and differential nonlinearity of ±0.5 LSB, and a minimum SINAD of 72 dB.

The ADS7812P is specified for operation over the industrial temperature range of -40°C to +85°C and is available in a through-hole 16-lead PDIP package (16-DIP). Maximum power dissipation is 35 mW, with a low-power shutdown mode consuming only 50 µW.
