The ADS7809UB is a 16-bit successive approximation register (SAR) analog-to-digital converter (ADC) from Texas Instruments. It offers a sampling rate of 100 ksps and a single-ended input channel. The converter supports both external and internal reference modes and provides a serial interface via SPI. The device operates from a single +5V supply and dissipates typically 81.5 mW. It features a signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) of 88 dB and a signal-to-noise-and-distortion ratio (SINAD) of 86 dB with a 20 kHz input. The ADS7809UB is housed in a 20-SOIC (0.295", 7.50mm Width) surface-mount package and operates over the industrial temperature range of -40°C to 85°C. It is pin-compatible with the 12-bit ADS7808. The device is suitable for applications requiring high-resolution data acquisition, such as industrial process control, instrumentation, and data logging systems.
