The ADS5546IRGZT is a high-performance 14-bit, 190-MSPS analog-to-digital converter (ADC) from Texas Instruments. It utilizes a pipelined architecture with an internal sample-and-hold circuit to achieve a signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) of 73.2 dBFS and spurious-free dynamic range (SFDR) of 87 dBc at a 70 MHz IF with 0 dB gain. The device supports programmable gain up to 6 dB for trade-offs between SNR and SFDR at high input frequencies.
The ADC operates from a 3.0 V to 3.6 V supply and dissipates 1.1 W typical power. It offers both double data rate (DDR) LVDS and parallel CMOS output options, with programmable output clock position to ease data capture. The input clock amplitude can be as low as 400 mV pp. The device includes an internal reference and supports external reference as well.
The ADS5546IRGZT is housed in a 48-pin VQFN package with exposed pad (7x7 mm) for surface mount assembly. It operates over a temperature range of -40°C to 85°C. Typical applications include wireless communications infrastructure, software-defined radio, power amplifier linearization, test and measurement instrumentation, high-definition video, medical imaging, and radar systems.
