The ADS1118 is a precision, low power, 16-bit analog-to-digital converter (ADC) that provides all features necessary to measure the most common sensor signals in an ultra-small, leadless X2QFN-10 package or a VSSOP-10 package. The ADS1118 integrates a programmable gain amplifier (PGA), voltage reference, oscillator and high-accuracy temperature sensor. These features, along with a wide power supply range from 2 V to 5.5 V, make the ADS1118 ideally suited for power- and space-constrained, sensor-measurement applications.
The ADS1118IDGSR offers 4 single-ended or 2 differential input channels via an input multiplexer, an SPI-compatible interface, and programmable data rates from 8 SPS to 860 SPS with single-cycle settling. It consumes only 150 µA typical in continuous mode and features automatic power-down in single-shot mode. The integrated temperature sensor provides ±0.5°C accuracy from 0°C to 70°C.
The device is specified over the -40°C to 125°C operating temperature range and is available in a 10-VSSOP (DGS) surface mount package. It is RoHS and REACH compliant with MSL level 2 (260°C, 1 year floor life). Standard packaging is 2500 pieces on large tape and reel.
