The ADPD142RG-BCEZ-RL is a fully integrated photometric system designed by Analog Devices to stimulate LEDs and measure corresponding optical return signals. It features best-in-class rejection of ambient light interference, both DC and AC. The module contains a highly efficient photometric front end, two LEDs (red and green), and a photodiode.
The front end consists of a control block, a 14-bit analog-to-digital converter (ADC) with a 20-bit burst accumulator enabling up to 20 bits per sample period, and two flexible, independently configurable LED drivers. Each LED driver can deliver up to 250 mA per channel. The analog front end handles return data from each LED on separate data paths with the option of separate AFE settings.
Data output and functional configuration occur over a 1.8 V I²C interface. The device is housed in a compact 2.8 mm × 5 mm module package, making it suitable for space-constrained applications such as optical heart rate monitoring and reflective SpO2 measurement.
The I²C interface operates at 1.8 V.
It is available in a Module package.
The ADC is 14-bit with a 20-bit burst accumulator.
It has 2 channels, each capable of 250 mA.
It uses I²C interface.
It is marked as RoHS3 Compliant, but this is unverified from the datasheet.
The maximum LED driver current is 250 mA per channel.
