The ADM706TARZ from Analog Devices is a microprocessor supervisory circuit engineered to ensure the reliability of 3V and 3.3V power supply systems. It offers precision voltage monitoring, generating a reset output during power-up, power-down, and brownout conditions, with the reset output remaining valid even at VCC as low as 1V.
Key features include a low 100 µA quiescent current and a 200 ms reset pulse width. The device also incorporates an independent watchdog timer with a 1.6-second timeout, activating if the watchdog input does not toggle within this period. A 1.25V threshold detector is included for power-fail warnings, low battery detection, or monitoring an additional power supply. An active-low, debounced manual reset (MR) input is also present.
This supervisory circuit is suitable for a wide range of applications, including microprocessor systems, computers, controllers, intelligent instruments, and battery-operated portable devices where critical power supply monitoring is essential. It serves as a superior upgrade for Maxim Integrated's MAX706 and MAX708 series.
