The ADM2682EBRIZ by ADI Electronics is a fully integrated signal and power isolated RS-485 transceiver designed for high-speed communication on multipoint transmission lines. It provides 5 kV rms of isolation and includes ±15 kV ESD protection on the RS-485 input/output pins, complying with ANSI/TIA/EIA-485-A-98 and ISO 8482:1987(E) standards.
This transceiver features an integrated isoPower® isolated DC-to-DC converter, eliminating the need for external isolation components. It supports a data rate of 16 Mbps and can be powered by a single 5V or 3.3V supply. The device is capable of connecting up to 256 nodes on a single bus and offers fail-safe receiver inputs for open- and short-circuit conditions. Its high common-mode transient immunity of greater than 25 kV/µs ensures reliable operation in noisy environments.
The ADM2682EBRIZ is housed in a 16-lead wide-body SOIC package with over 8 mm of creepage and clearance, suitable for industrial field networks and multipoint data transmission systems. The operating temperature range is from -40°C to +85°C, and it includes thermal shutdown protection.
