The ADM241LARZ is a low power, +5V CMOS RS-232 transceiver from the Analog Devices ADM2xxL family. It integrates four drivers and five receivers, supporting full duplex RS-232 communication at data rates up to 120 kbps. The device features two internal charge pump voltage converters that generate ±9 V output swing from a single 5 V supply, eliminating the need for ±12 V rails. It includes a low power shutdown mode that reduces supply current to ≤1 µA, making it ideal for battery-powered equipment. The receiver hysteresis of 650 mV ensures noise immunity, and the ±30 V receiver input levels provide robust interface protection. The ADM241LARZ is housed in a 28-pin wide SOIC (0.295", 7.50mm Width) surface mount package and operates over the industrial temperature range of -40°C to +85°C. External 1 µF capacitors are required for the charge pump circuits. This device is a direct plug-in upgrade for MAX223/230-241 and AD230–AD241 series transceivers.
The maximum data rate is 120 kbps.
The supply voltage range is 4.75V to 5.25V.
It has 4 drivers and 5 receivers.
The operating temperature range is -40°C to +85°C.
It is available in a 28-SOIC (0.295", 7.50mm Width) surface mount package.
Yes, it features a low power shutdown mode that reduces supply current to ≤1 µA.
The device is marked as RoHS3 Compliant, but this is unverified.
