ADM1485ARZ-REEL

The ADM1485ARZ-REEL is a differential line transceiver designed for high-speed bidirectional data communication on multipoint bus transmission lines. It complies with both RS-485 and RS-422 EIA standards and operates from a single 5V supply. The device features a 30 Mbps data rate, half-duplex operation, and a common-mode range of -7V to +12V. It includes thermal shutdown and short-circuit protection for robust operation. The receiver has fail-safe logic high output on floating inputs. The driver and receiver propagation delays are 10 ns and 15 ns typical, respectively. The ADM1485 is a BiCMOS device and can support up to 32 transceivers on the bus. It is available in an 8-SOIC surface mount package with gull wing leads. Typical applications include low power RS-485 systems, DTE-DCE interfaces, packet switching, local area networks, and data multiplexers.
